7th February 2024 | The most interesting person is YOU
Dear Audiences,
On February 7th, 2024, I started my day filled with anticipation for the creative work ahead. Here’s what unfolded:
Journey with Hubert
Hubert and I set off to a place where I was tasked with capturing his story through my lens. Hubert has dedicated 30 years to advocating for a neglected truth in history related to the prehistory of New Netherlands, crucial for understanding the foundation of New York and, consequently, the United States.
This story involves Dutch explorers, their interactions with indigenous peoples, and their foundational role in the area’s eventual colonization. Hubert believes I have the unique talent to convey his lifelong project in a way that gives voice to the underrepresented role of the native Americans in this historical period.
Interviews with Hubert
The day’s project was split into two segments. First, Hubert donned a 17th-century sailor’s costume to embody Hendrik Christiansen, offering a first-person narrative on his pivotal role in history.
The second part was more personal, delving into Hubert’s motivations and the challenges he faced in bringing this story to light. Both interviews were profound, adding layers to Hubert’s mission and showcasing the depth of his commitment.
Reflecting on My Talents
Returning home, I pondered over my website’s impact and my knack for storytelling, further validated by Teya, a DJ who appreciates my work and has encouraged her followers to do the same. She praised my voice narration skills, a compliment I’ve received multiple times, reminding me of my first voice narration projects and making me curious about how I can further develop this art form.
Talia and Alita — A Game of Discovery
Reflecting on my previous day’s conversation about Talia and Alita, I realized this ongoing game of identifying Talia only to question if she could be Alita — the strong woman I’m willing to explore deeper connections with. This playful yet profound journey of discovery adds a layer of excitement and intrigue to my interactions.
Feedback and Reflections
Lama Tashi Norbu’s positive feedback on the video I made for him was encouraging.
Listening back to a conversation with James or Dr J from last year, I was struck by his perception of me as the most interesting person on the planet, challenging my tendency to underestimate myself.
This, coupled with insights from Mo and Godert about recognizing my own capacity for love and compassion, led to a profound moment of self-realization.
A Moment of Clarity
After an ice bath followed by a hot shower, clarity struck. I acknowledged my unique talent as a filmmaker and artist capable of touching hearts and inspiring change. This newfound self-recognition filled me with energy and confidence, reshaping how I view myself and my interactions with others, especially with Talia, or anyone I find intriguing.
Concluding Thoughts
Today was transformative. It wasn’t just about capturing stories or refining my craft; it was a journey into understanding the depth of my abilities and the impact of my work. I’ve come to see that recognizing one’s worth and potential can unlock a profound sense of purpose and direction. As I move forward, I’m armed with a clearer vision of who I am and the unique contributions I can make to the world of storytelling and beyond.
Warmly, babyPRO
